The age of a property alone doesn't automatically mean it needs a complete rewire. What matters is the condition and suitability of the existing electrical installation — which is why we assess it rather than guess from the property's age.

Full or Partial Rewire?
Full House Rewire
A full rewire involves replacing the electrical wiring and associated circuits and accessories throughout the property, as required by the agreed specification.
Full rewires are commonly undertaken during a major renovation, or when the existing electrical installation is no longer suitable for the home.
Partial Rewire
Not every project needs the entire electrical installation replacing. A partial rewire may be appropriate when work is confined to part of the property, particular circuits, an extension or a major room renovation — subject to assessment of the existing installation.
This is common for extensions & renovations and kitchen electrics projects, where the rest of the property's wiring remains unaffected.

The BRO team are absolutely the best electricians I've ever had. They do outstanding work all the time every time.
I was in a position where I was let down by a surveyor who said my electrics were fine and it turns out they were from the 1950s and I had a short deadline of a few weeks to get the rewire done before we moved in.
Within a day of contacting them the work was booked in for the following Monday after rearranging work due to the urgency of the job (it was Saturday and Tom still made the outstanding effort to come take a look)
The full rewire was done within a week including plastering up the minimal chases that's were made in order to run the new cable (the plasterer who worked with BRO recommended by them was honestly outstanding, the speed and quality of his work is like nothing I've ever seen before)
Alot of unrelated work was done in the house in the same week due to the time frame we had to move in and BRO made accommodations to work around them without any issues.
Everything from the price to the workmanship was brilliant these guys got me out of a lot of trouble by going the extra mile to accommodate the rewire.
Since the rewire Tom and the team have also done electrical work in my garage which was also top notch and I will definitely use them again for anything electrical related.

How long does a full house rewire take?

Can I stay in my house while it's being rewired?
Rewiring is disruptive, and a vacant property is generally easier to work in. Staying in the property while work takes place is sometimes possible, but it depends on your individual circumstances and the scope of the project — we'll talk this through honestly with you at the site visit.
How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Does a house rewire include a new consumer unit?
Yes. As part of a full house rewire, BRO Electrical includes a new appropriately sized consumer unit with modern circuit protection and surge protection, together with inspection, testing and certification of the completed installation. The exact board size and configuration will depend on the property and final electrical specification.
Will you need to chase the walls?
Cable routes and installation methods depend on how the property is constructed and the installation agreed with you — this is confirmed as part of planning the job, not assumed in advance.
