Where electrical plans or project drawings are provided, BRO Electrical can work from the supplied information to understand the intended installation and coordinate the electrical work with the wider project.
Before first fix, we review the relevant information alongside the site itself and discuss the practical electrical requirements with the homeowner, builder or contractor — including socket positions, lighting, switching, dedicated supplies and other requirements for the finished space.
Plans provide the starting point. Site conditions, final layouts and project requirements still need clear communication as the build progresses.
The best time to make electrical decisions is before the walls are closed.

We aim to provide a clear electrical scope based on the information available at quotation stage, so homeowners and builders understand:

- Quantities and specification where appropriate

- What may be outside the original scope
Construction projects naturally evolve, and changes sometimes happen. Where additional electrical work is requested during the project, we aim to identify and agree changes as they arise, rather than leaving them as an unexplained surprise at the end.
Electrical Work Doesn't Happen in Isolation.
Extension and renovation work has to coordinate with the wider build. We work alongside builders, kitchen installers, plumbers and heating engineers, joiners, and plasterers and other relevant trades as the project progresses.
Sequencing matters. First fix needs to happen at the right point in the programme, and second fix needs to coordinate with finished surfaces, kitchens, joinery and other completed elements.

Initial Site Visit
We visit the project, discuss the proposed works and understand the electrical requirements and wider build.

Drawings, Layout & Specification
Where plans are available, we review them alongside the electrical requirements and agree the scope needed for quotation and installation.

Clear Quotation
A clear quotation is prepared around the agreed scope, so the electrical allowance is understood before work begins.

First Fix
Cabling, circuits, back boxes and other first-fix electrical work are installed at the appropriate stage of the build.

Project Communication
We stay in communication as the project progresses, coordinating our electrical work with the relevant stages of the wider build and identifying agreed changes where required.

Second Fix
Sockets, switches, lighting and other electrical accessories are installed once the project is ready for second fix.

Inspection, Testing & Certification
The completed installation is inspected and tested, and the appropriate electrical certification is issued.

This included outdoor lighting, sockets, shower room and utility lighting and extraction, spotlights and feature lighting for the kitchen/dinning and seating area and new fuse box for the new areas along with new cable connection for existing shed lighting and smoke alarms for the entire house. Tom and Kev are an extremely professional and experienced team and gave great customer service at all times. Tom and team did a great job of linking our new extension into the existing house (which they had also previously required for us a few years ago). Work included spotlight installation, outside lights, new sockets, outside sockets, a new board and coring and installation of new extractor fans. Prompt delivery of the electrical certificate, and easy to work with throughout. Would definitely recommend bro electrical.

When should I involve an electrician in my extension?
As early as possible. Involving us before first fix means electrical requirements can be properly considered before finished surfaces restrict what's practically possible.
Can BRO Electrical work from architectural/electrical drawings?
Yes — where drawings are available, we review them as part of understanding and planning the electrical installation. We don't provide architectural design services ourselves.
Can you work directly with my builder?
Yes. We regularly work alongside builders and other trades on residential projects.
Do you carry out both first and second fix?
Yes, through to inspection, testing and certification of the completed installation.
Can I change socket or lighting positions during the project?
Often, depending on the stage reached — but changes may affect scope, cost and programme, which we'll agree with you before proceeding.
